Airstream started as the icon of travel trailers. Now it's become a timeless classic in the food trailer world too. With so many options out there, why choose this one?
It's not the cheapest — but it's the one people notice. Sometimes what wins customers before your cooking even gets a chance is how the rig looks. Everyone's walking around with a phone these days, and your Airstream could end up on someone's Instagram before they've even placed an order.
At Chris Machinery, ours isn't made of aircraft aluminum — it's built with heavy-gauge, food-grade stainless steel. Aircraft aluminum was chosen for travel trailers because it's lightweight. Food trailers are different — hygiene comes first. Inside and out, it's 304 stainless. Any health inspector will sign off without a second thought. And it holds up year after year. Keep it clean, and it stays looking like new.
If you're thinking about building a brand or franchising down the road, choosing a classic Airstream style food trailer gives you timeless appeal that won't go out of fashion.
And because it's a classic, when it's time to sell, it moves faster than most other builds. Shorter holding period, lower risk.

375 mm — Subtle square curve: Lowest arc with more upright walls, making it easiest to lay out heavy commercial equipment. Practical, clean, and understated.
500 mm — Classic mid curve: The iconic "Airstream look" people expect. Strikes the sweet spot between working headroom and curb appeal.
700 mm — Full curve: Our deepest arc with the most dramatic silhouette. Shown here in brushed stainless—it throws light differently at every hour of the day.
The three cards group lengths already in the Airstream filter. Width is 2200 mm on every Airstream. Short café units sit at 2800–3500 mm; mid commercial kitchens at 3800–5000 mm; long premium lines at 5500–7000 mm. After you pick a card, filter Length, then Arc and Material. Example links are placeholders until you paste a product URL such as /products/airstream/your-slug.
People see the shiny silver shell and think "coffee or cocktails." But this 3m single axle food trailer is built to actually cook. Inside, it’s pure 304 food-grade stainless—easy to wipe down, health-inspector ready. We mapped out the food trailer equipment tight: prep sink, a dedicated cooking zone (under that heavy-duty extraction hood), and under-counter fridge/freezer space. Because the 700mm curve eats into side wall height, we centered the tall gear. Fits a compact footprint without cramping your shift. Outside, that mirror-finish gets the Instagram photos. At Chris Machinery, the real game-changer is our electric folding logo on the roof. Flat for towing, pops up at service time—your brand hits eye-level without a permanent height headache. Coffee, burgers, or a weekend pop-up—this is how a catering trailer for sale should feel: light to tow, tough to outlast, and built to turn heads before they read the menu.

This 5m dual axle isn't for weekend pop-ups. It's built to run full-time—regular daily service, corporate bookings, and the kind of schedule that pays the bills. Inside, we fitted it with full commercial gas gear: fryers, griddles, and high-output burners. Anything hot you need to cook, this mobile kitchen handles with ease. Prep sinks, stainless storage cabinets, and under-counter refrigeration are seamlessly built into the layout—nothing feels tacked on or crowded. Right next to the pickup line, we added an upright beverage cooler. While customers wait for their hot order, they grab a cold drink. That's an extra sale per ticket with zero extra foot traffic needed. Engineered by Chris Machinery, the heavy-duty dual axle setup carries up to 3,200 kg—plenty of payload capacity for heavy commercial appliances without stressing the hot-dip galvanized frame. Burgers, tacos, street BBQ—this Airstream style food trailer handles it all.

At 7 meters, this is the largest size allowed under European COC regulations. Wrapped in custom gold-tinted stainless steel, this shell doesn’t just fit the lot—it owns it. Zero chance of blending in. The interior layout is where engineering meets smart service. We built this rig with dual serving windows, each serving window featuring large insulated soup wells recessed flush into the stainless counter. The real trick? The counter slides outward. When you open for business, push the counter out: customers get an appetizing front-row view of your food, while your crew gains valuable aisle space inside. Two wins, one simple motion. If you’re running high-volume catering service and need a food trailer that maxes out both street presence and operational practicality, this Airstream catering trailer is the absolute ceiling. For operators browsing for a catering trailer for sale at true flagship scale, this is as big and bold as it gets.

Laying out an Airstream-style food trailer takes a bit more thought than a square box. Here's how to work through it.
1. Pick your roof curve first.
The curve determines the chassis specs. Lock this in before anything else — otherwise every measurement changes when you switch arcs.
2. Map the wheel wells.
With the curve set, confirm wheel well positions and overall length/width/height. This nails down the chassis completely. Only then can you place the door and any tall standing equipment. On shorter builds — say a 4m rig — the wheel wells eat up a lot of interior space. The door may have to go at the rear, and room for tall gear is tight.
3. Place your sink, counter-top fridge, and cooking zone.
Figure out the position and dimensions for each. By now you'll have a solid first draft. Double-check total length and watch for height conflicts. If something doesn't feel right, send it to Chris Machinery — we'll take a look and give feedback.
4. Sort out outlets and finer details.
Number and location of power outlets, water inlet position, shore power hookup — these all matter once you're working inside. Mark them up based on your experience or local requirements.
That's how you end up with a layout that's truly yours.
